Import and record

Select photos or videos in the system picker. Capture requires a camera app that can handle the request. After copying media into Mimi you can edit dates, places and text. Retry failed items without importing successful ones again.

Back up and restore

Choose full backup from the profile screen, select a writable folder and wait for completion. Keep the entire generated backup folder with journal.json and originals. Select that folder to restore, rather than one image or a ZIP. Existing entries are retained and duplicate media are skipped. Try another provider if it cannot write or read all files.

Backups are unencrypted; avoid public links. Cloud upload depends on the file service. Mimi does not provide automatic cross-device sync. Confirm that a complete backup has been saved before changing devices, clearing data or uninstalling.

Features and data management

This Android version has no speech transcription or AI. Deletion does not affect gallery originals; manage shared copies in receiving apps. If a journal is missing, check the device and app before clearing data. The developer cannot remotely recover local entries.
